Originally known as Second Baptist Church of Cloverleaf, it was begun in late June of 1956. Sixty-five individuals withdrew their membership from Cloverleaf Baptist Church. This group felt led by God to form a new body of believers. On July 15, 1956, this body was formed and a new small white wood frame building was built at the corner of Force Street and Nadolney. Reverend Ed Anderson was the first pastor. This new church was full of young families and couples anxious to serve God. It wasn’t long before this new building was too small.
During the first 20 years, the church continued to grow and a new building was erected with two educational wings. During the late 1970s, God blessed us with a new gymnasium and activity center. The gym was later converted into a sanctuary and a foyer was added. The former sanctuary became the fellowship hall. There have been several renovations to the sanctuary to get it to its current state.
Our church is affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention and faithful supporters of the cooperative program. We also support the Union Baptist Association and its associated missions. We are members of the Southern Baptists of Texas Convention. We support the Annie Armstrong and Lottie Moon mission offerings as well as many other programs.
God continues to bless our church with His love and Grace and we thank Him for your presence.
